Nationality, represented by the flag, is often used as a divide and conquer strategy by politicians, most notably in Britain Margaret Thatcher, Enoch Powell and Nigel Farage to push ideologies of us vs them. I propose, following the lead of black arts movements in the 1980s, that there is more that unites us than divides us as people.
